TMPGEnc MovieStyle

Following their solid tradition in the development of video conversion and authoring tools, Pegasys launched in 2008 their new video converter in the TMPGEnc line of products – TMPGEnc MovieStyle.

This new utility seemed to have been designed with the non-techy user in mind – codec-related settings had given way to device-oriented profiles, and the output possibilities had been reduced to three: standard quality, high quality, or audio-only output. Now, four years later, they have improved MovieStyle with support for all the new range of Apple products, including the iPhone, while maintaining the program’s simplicity and efficiency.

The conversion engine and the codecs behind these simple settings and the eye-catching interface retain the same level of quality that you would expect from a Pegasys product. The idea, however, is to give anyone with a portable player or a console the possibility of enjoying their videos with the best quality possible, and in the most simple and fastest way. You do not need to know which format your portable player prefers, or the best resolution your console can give you – TMPGEnc MovieStyle can provide you with the best possible output just by selecting a device and an input file. The program supports batch conversion, and it even offers you a simple library management tool to keep track of all the conversions performed for each device.

Still, you will find a preferences window where you can apply some basic tweaking to your output, but I advise you not to touch anything if you happen to be happy with the results provided by the settings already built into the various conversion processes.
